The importance of YOUR time

Ok, this weeks topic somewhat relates to last weeks "living a productive life" blog. Last Sunday I was watching the CBS Sunday Morning with Charles Osgood & one of the stories was about this guy that makes these watches that “counts down” your time left before you die, (there are actual equations that your insurance company uses to do life expectation predictions, but this is really weird). You fill in a bunch of information about your health, activity level, illnesses, family history … yada yada, & the watch sets a future time and begins to count down … ‘til you die.
The Purpose of life

The Plank as an exercise & test

Ok, this week I’m giving y’all the gift of the PLANK!! I use this a lot in my training workouts with my clients and on location when training you guys and gals. I’ve even put it in my fitness assessment. It’s a very good exercise/test to have in your arsenal. Learn it, practice it … and then you & I will test it!!!!! I keeeeed I keeeeed … maybe.

Know your cholesterol numbers!!
Ok, this week I’m off the sugar thing cuz I want to visit your cholesterol levels. Yesterday – Friday – was my monthly platelet appointment. Without getting too graphic, my medical past kicked in and I started to ask a lot of questions about how my platelets looked in the bag hanging there. My gal that always does my procedure told me they looked good, healthy and really “clean”. So I asked her what “clean” in the platelet world meant & she said that they could see all kinds of stuff in a bag of platelets. They’ll look greenish if a gal is on the pill, they’ll look darker (platelets are yellow-goldish normally) if one is on a certain medicine & they’ll be “cloudy” to having small lumps in it if your cholesterol was high … now you know why we’re going this way. So, here’s a few numbers from WebMD for you to know about your cholesterol.
Sugar truth #3

Ok, this week, sugar truth #3. Guys & gals, the reason I’m going over this “sugar” stuff is simple – sugar is one of the greatest contributors to obesity and Type II Adult Onset Diabetes. Seeing as how it would be really naïve of me to think that anyone reading this will all of a sudden STOP eating sugar … I’m sending this info on how to eat sugar appropriately. I hope it helps.
Sugar Truth #2
Happy Birthday to Uncle Sam - he's 238 years old!!! I hope you're having a productive & relaxing holiday weekend. Be sure and read over YOUR Constitution this weekend. I'm almost positive you haven't even thought of reading it in a long time IF you've ever read it ... so give it a try, you'll be surprised how important it will become to you.
